Tux Lanersbach, Austria

Soon, I will loose count on how many times I have been here, and always something new for me to do or discover

arrived last night in time for dinner, and this morning, look out the window to these 2 hard working Austrians still a way to go, keeping in mind they are on a rather steep slope bit cloudy still today, but we are heading up to the Gletscher today so we're half way up now at Tuxer Fennerhaus, and this is the exact same spot where Evan did his Ice Bucket challenge 9 years ago ( remember those ) landscape changed only slightly, they built up the road and put in a big pipe, but I recognize the rock formationhere's a photo of Evan 9 years ago in the same spot doing the Ice Bucket challenge with a broken arm ( also see how much less snow there is this time )so the mountain has been working hard to preserve the snow by getting bulk patches of snow gathered at spring time and then covering with white type of tarpaulin but it is all still melting ( fast )  one more lift up to top station ( 3 in total )must have been windy last night Jacqui loves snow, but a bit clouded over for that great snow shot, unlike last time she was up here no view today, still exciting to be up here though heading back down to Sommerbergalm and plan to walk from thererecognize that spot had an exhilarating ski run down that mountain about 6 months ago, what a great day that wasno cows on the run back then very friendly that looks like a new reservoir having a break from grazing a look up just before hitting Sommerbergalm station and then ready to hike down contrasts now we will see lots of waterfalls and creeks gushing down from the melting glaciers the sound love it hiking partner, looking like a pro Hintertux woauw, he's got a big task ahead of him thermal pool down below fresh bees on thistle flowers condensation Schleierwasserfall WeitentalbachHeading up to the Schleierwasserfall time to keep heading down so much water Weitentalbach, apparently one of the few untouched by human streamsbig shale rock half across the stream layers and layers red top looking back to where we came from forest section now on cloud level water everywhere and woauw, how cool is this beehives but the little chalet is one big hive by the looks of it wonder if they keep them in the chalet during winter Bogan sport ? everywhere, little streams gushing down and joining the Weitentalbach fresh water so time for a drink from the tap good walk done
