the local kids temporarily ditch their skate boards. so just before fashion week started, word got around quickly on the northern beaches, that a whale had washed ashore at Newport beach When I drove down their with the kids, it was no where to be seen on the beach, but then I smelled something off, followed our nose to the rocks, and there it was, washed up on the rocks So not a case of a whale beaching itself, but more a case of an already dead whale getting washed onshore with all those onshore winds we had that week, not an adult whale, but still pretty big, and a few chunks taken out by sharks already as well and the smell was worse than any rotten fish smell you ever encountered so it was a case of quick, get the photo and re treat to purer air again :-)
