At Marks this afternoon for a little BBQ, and a beer ofcourse . I've known Mark since I was about 14 y.o., living down at North Narrabeen, back then Mark started a surfshop business with a sandwich bar , right across from the north narrabeen car park. I got my first job there, and ended up working there for about 4 years, some days just making sandwiches, jaffles and smoothies all day, and on other days working in the surfshop part, selling surfboards, wetties, boardshorts and my favourite back then, selling bikinis to girls. So all in all a great job for a grommet.Naturally Mark and I still keep in touch, he now is one of the major players at Quiksilver , in charge of all the live webcasts during all the Quiksilver sponsored surfing competitions. Mark was probably one of the first true proffesional surfers, along with Ian Cairns and Pete Townsend they started the bronzed aussies and dominated the surfing comps.
